About the Museum
The Moore Methodist Museum, the Ministry of Memory of the South Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church, welcomes visitors to explore the history of the Methodist movement and its founder John Wesley. Exhibits feature the development and leaders of Methodism in America, Epworth By The Sea and St. Simons Island history, and much more. The Museum plays the full-length documentary "St. Simons 360: Historical Video Tour" twice daily and presents the "John Wesley on St. Simons" lecture given by Rev. Dave Hanson every Thursday at 11:00 am. The Museum houses an extensive nativity collection including the O Holy Night Exhibit made up of life-sized, paper-mache nativity scenes. A lending library and Christian Bookstore/Gift Shop are also onsite. Museum hours are Monday - Friday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Saturday from 1 pm to 4 pm. We are closed on Sundays and major holidays. Call 912-638-4050 to schedule a guided tour. Group tours are available. There is no admission fee but donations are gratefully accepted.

STORY MOORE
New Program Announced
The mission of Story Moore is to collect and preserve the stories of Methodists living in the South Georgia Conference to build connections between people in order to make disciples for Jesus Christ and for the transformation of the world. The interview session is at the heart of Story Moore acknowledging that everyone's story matters and reminding people of the value of listening. A Story Moore interview is 40 minutes of uninterrupted time for meaningful conversation with a friend or loved one. At the heart of a great conversation are people connecting and sharing and we have tips to help facilitate meaningful dialogue.
