About the Museum

The Moore Methodist Museum, the Ministry of Memory of the South Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church, welcomes visitors to explore the history of the Methodist movement and its founder John Wesley.  Exhibits feature the development and leaders of Methodism in America, Epworth By The Sea and St. Simons Island history, and much more.  The Museum plays the full-length documentary "St. Simons 360: Historical Video Tour" twice daily and presents the "John Wesley on St. Simons" lecture given by Rev. Dave Hanson every Thursday at 11:00 am.  The Museum houses an extensive nativity collection including the O Holy Night Exhibit made up of life-sized, paper-mache nativity scenes.  A lending library and Christian Bookstore/Gift Shop are also onsite.  Museum hours are Monday - Friday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Saturday from 1 pm to 4 pm.  We are closed on Sundays and major holidays.  Call 912-638-4050 to schedule a guided tour.  Group tours are available.  There is no admission fee but donations are gratefully accepted.

Susan Duke Waters, artist and Methodist from Rockmart, Georgia, created this stunning exhibit entitled O Holy Night featuring life-sized, papier-mache nativity scenes. From the journey to Bethlehem to Jesus's birth in the manger, experience this stunning artistic creation.

Stand in amazement with the shepherds at the angels heralding the new king's birth and travel with the wise men as they follow the foretold star. This is a new, permanent exhibit on display at the Moore Methodist Museum
